Tell us a little bit about yourself.  

By nature, I am a caring and empathetic person. Given these qualities, it's no surprise I trained as a Midwife in the one of Ireland's leading Maternity Hospitals from 2008-2012 and worked as a staff Midwife until 2013. In 2014, I moved into the world of fertility. I have received my certificate in Fertility Ultrasound. I am also an experienced Fertility Nurse Manager.  

Did you always want to be a nurse/midwife?  

I always knew I wanted to work with women and families and training to be a Midwife helped me to achieve this. 

How did you end up specialising in fertility?  

During my time as a Midwife, I cared for women/couples who conceived through fertility treatment and it highlighted a gap in knowledge for me. My curiosity grew from here and I decided to move into this field further my training and skills.  

What excited you about joining the Thérapie Fertility team?  

It's very clear for me that Therapie Fertility are passionate about accessible and evidence based patient care. It's important to me to experience different approaches to care. In addition, the published success rates are very impressive! 

What can patients expect from the satellite service in Dundalk?  

Patient's can come to me in Dundalk for bloods/scans and Nurse consults. Patient's, by default, will have continuity of care, which from my experience, is a very important factor in patient experience.  

Why is it so important to you to provide these services outside of the main Dublin clinic?  

Fertility treatment is so taxing on patients, socially, emotionally, physically and financially. By offering services closer to home, we can remove some of the unwanted stress for patients by being to access services more locally.
